Gantt Elected Corporate Officer of Sonoco
HARTSVILLE, S.C., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Larry O. Gantt (63), vice president - operating excellence, has been elected a corporate officer, it was announced today by Harris E. DeLoach, president and chief executive officer of Sonoco.

Gantt heads the Company's Six Sigma operating philosophy, including an aggressive productivity program with an annual improvement objective of 2% - 3% of the Company's total costs and Sonoco's Customer Satisfaction Through Excellence initiative.
A native of Wagner, S.C., Gantt has held numerous manufacturing and corporate staff management positions since joining the Company in 1963. He is a 1959 graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. degree in industrial management.
