Sonoco's Mason Promoted to Staff Vice President
HARTSVILLE, S.C., March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Kenneth B. Mason, formerly director - human resources, Industrial Products/Paper, North America; has been promoted to staff vice president - human resources, Industrial Products, it was announced by Cynthia A. Hartley, corporate vice president - human resources.

Mason has served Sonoco (NYSE: SON) in several positions since 1980 including: director - human resources, Flexible Packaging, 1998-1999; vice president - human resources, Sonoco Engraph, 1994-98; division manager - human resources, Industrial Containers, 1985-94; and employee relations manager, Industrial Containers, 1983-85. Prior to joining Sonoco, Mason worked with the Douglas Aircraft Company and Woodward & Lothrop.
Mason graduated from Hobart College, Geneva, N.Y., with a B.A. in political science. He received his master's degree in Industrial relations from St. Francis College, Loretto, Pa., in 1975.
