the global packaging company, today announced that Kevin E. Bryans will
become division vice president and managing director, Asia/Australia/New
Zealand, effective Nov. 1, 2005, according to Ronald E. Holley, senior vice
president.

Bryans (48) is currently division vice president and managing director of
Sonoco's Asian operations, based in Singapore. In this new position, he will
have responsibility for Sonoco's industrial products, paper and consumer
products operations in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
A 1981 graduate of the University of Oregon with a B.A. degree in history,
Bryans joined Sonoco in 1981 and has held numerous manufacturing and
management positions in Company operations in Asia, Canada and the United
States. In 2001, Bryans became division vice president-Industrial
Products/Paper, Asia, and in 2002 he was named vice president and managing
director, Asia for Sonoco's industrial products, paper and consumer products
operations.
