HARTSVILLE, S.C., Apr 15, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sonoco (NYSE: SON) has been named a recipient of the Eastman Supplier Excellence Award by Eastman Chemical Co. The award recognizes Sonoco for its efforts in 2010.
Sonoco supplies Eastman Chemical with tubes used for winding textile fibers. The Eastman Supplier Excellence Award is given to companies which provide consistent performance in furnishing Eastman Chemical with high-quality materials and services that help Eastman Chemical improve efficiency and competitiveness in the marketplace. In a letter to Sonoco, Eastman Chemical said Sonoco's selection was based on Sonoco's contributions in the areas of on-time shipping performance and meeting Eastman Chemical's expectations for quality.
